Dizziness Catastrophizing Scale (DCS)

The Dizziness Catastrophizing Scale (DCS) is a 13-item self-report measure of catastrophic thinking related to dizziness. The items and scoring of DCS were adapted from the previously validated Pain Catastrophizing Scale by replacing the term 'pain' with 'dizziness'. All items are scored using a 5-point Likert scale, ranging from 'not at all' to 'all the time'. The DCS requires approximately a Grade 6 reading level and takes less than 5 minutes to complete. The DCS was developed with the support of the creator of the Pain Catastrophizing Scale.
